All lamps are handcrafted in house by Paul Haberstroh. Paul is a design, robotics, and engineering teacher and champion of the maker movement. He founded and directed the Fab Lab at Saint Paul's School, and directed the IDEAS Center at Gould Academy. Paul developed and taught a graduate education elective at the University of New England for teachers to bring innovation into the classroom. He was the United States host and facilitator for the Global Children's Designathon.
Paul always included Art in his STEM curriculum and encouraged innovation and creativity in his classroom. Recycling, repurposing, and design thinking were emphasized in his project based assignments. His educational technology blog can be found here.
Each lamp is a unique creation. These are original designs incorporating vintage, repurposed, industrial, and antique components. These lamps combine repurposing and upcycling with elegant industrial steampunk design to create timeless pieces of art. These one of one designs will become the focal point of the space they occupy.
Materials and parts are sourced in the spirit of the industrial steampunk theme. Many parts are one of kind antiques, or new old stock vintage finds. Antique and vintage artifacts from a bygone era are carefully selected to integrate with the design of some of the lamps. Solid brass and black pipe fittings that will develop a patina over time. Light bulbs are LED. All electrical components and cords are modern UL Listed in matching vintage style.
